SENIOR ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

While many schools, universities and even other career counselling professionals rely solely on aptitude assessments to assist with career decisions, we believe that gaining an idea of the “bigger picture” in terms of who the student is, is essential. For this reason, we have structured assessment packages that aim to tailor the assessment process to the individual needs of the student.

The assessment is therefore conducted on a higher level to expose more areas to reveal underlying strengths and weaknesses. The assessments are the following:

Field of Interest

What really interest’s the respondent and what do they like being involved in?

Work Values

That are the respondent’s beliefs and ideas about what they want to get out of a job? In short, what will drive them and what will drag them down?

Personality

How does the respondent operate in this world? This is not good or bad, wrong or right, this is purely who they are as an individual. The respondent is assessed as being either a Thinker, a Creator, a Doer or a Giver. Based upon this, certain career fields will be more attractive and suitable than others to the respondent. This is who they are and this will not change over time.

Thinking Style

What are the respondent’s unique way of thinking? Each person is unique and thinks in a different way, just as individuals walk, dress, talk, and act in their own unique way. This is linked to left and right brain dominance. The brain has different types of logic, processing and thinking, dominated by each half of the brain. Their thinking style is similar to their personality, but unlike their personality, thinking style can be changed and adapted over time. As in the case with their personality, certain thinking styles suit certain careers better than others. The respondent is assessed as being either in the Box, out of the Box, Manual or a Heart style of the thinker. Choosing a career that suits their style of thinking will likely see greater success.
